I was not going to post a second
edition for December but then I began to have a discussion on one of the
Hosta Forums. The discussion was important enough in my mind to post
my response here FIRST rather than to the forum. Please note this will
be re-posted on the forum in question.
A blog about one man's obsession, and adventures with growing hosta in St. Paul, Minnesota in the United States. Pages are added on the First and Fifteenth of the month. This blog is active from about March 15th to October 15; growing seasons may vary. The author/host welcomes questions and comments from you the reader. Extra Edition: Hosta as food ...
To my Serbian followers: A US headline is suggesting that food is becoming scare in Serbia. You may want to investigate Hosta as a vegetable source. Asians for hundreds of years have eaten hosta! In contemporary terms it can be prepared like Asparagus or collected like Lettuce.
WARNING: Some varieties can be toxic and poisonous. Our far east Asian followers here may be able to offer more information about Hosta as food than I can.
